Nampa, Idaho - The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team just could not seem to get their offense going Thursday. Eastern lost their first non conference match of the season with NCAA Division II member Northwest Nazarene in Nampa 1-0.
The Mounties did get 10 shots away but were unable to connect on any. NNU managed to get one of its 19 shots to go during the 35th minute of the first half.
First year Head Coach Jessie Watson had this to say about Thursdays game, "We played great on our back line (fullbacks) but failed to work together and maintain some possesion of the ball."
Coach Watson went on to say, "This years team has the make up to be great, the second we come together as a cohesive unit and play for each other not just ourselves."
EOU will be on the road again next Friday and Saturday when they travel to Montana for a couple more non conference contests against Carroll College and the University of Great Falls.
The Mountaineers will be at home on September 14th and 15th to kick off the Cascade Conference regular season with matches against Evergreen State and Northwest University.
