NNU Snaps the Mountaineers Win Streak

La Grande, Ore. – Today’s soccer match between Northwest Nazarene University and EOU was neck and neck until the Crusaders Carlee Stinton placed the ball perfectly over a diving Molly Sumpter with twelve minutes to play.
The Mountaineers (7-4, 5-1 CCC) were unable to score in this 1-0 contest and were limited to three shots on goal. With the win, NNU (7-6, 2-3 GNAC) managed to snap the Mountaineers five game winning streak.
Prior to the goal, the Crusaders had a golden opportunity to put the first point on the scoreboard with a penalty kick late in the second half but goalkeeper Molly Sumpter came up with a save.
EOU has two more home non-conference games this weekend as they prepare to host Carroll College on Saturday and then University of Great Falls on Sunday.
