Both Men and Women Move Up in Latest Polls

1.30.08

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time since January 9 the EOU Women are not the 19th ranked team in the Nation.  The Mountie Women moved up two spots to 17th in the latest NAIA National Poll.  The Men jumped three spots from 13 to 10.

Eastern's Women are 17-2, 11-1 in the Cascade Conference.  They are currently in first place in the CCC, a game ahead of Saturday's opponent, Southern Oregon (19-3, 10-2 CCC) and I-84 rival College of Idaho (13-6, 10-2 CCC).

The move up comes on the heals of Senior Forward Tiffanie Ulmer being named the CCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 16.9 points at 10 rebounds in wins over Warner Pacific and Cascade College.

The Men improved to 17-2, 10-2 in conference play and for the first time in school history they are in first place in the league this late in the season.  They will be put to the test Friday night as the Mountaineers travel to Klamath Falls to face #13 Oregon Tech in a battle of two of the nations best.
