KAILUA, Hawaii - Up just three after twenty minutes The Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball team must have made the right adjustments at halftime. The Mounties outscored Holy Name University 47-19 in the final twenty to beat the Hawks 82-51 in their final game in paradise.
Tiffanie Ulmer led the way with 17 points and 14 rebounds and junior transfer Jenny Fiso played perhaps her best game as a Mountie scoring 17 points going 7-10 from the field. laura Olsen chipped in 10 points.
10 of the 12 players that got in the game for EOU got into the scoring column. Only Amanda Matson and Grace Deboodt did not get a bucket. The two combined for just one shot and did contribute 9 rebounds in a total of 12 minutes.
After a back and forth first half The Mountaineers put the clamps on defensively allowing HNU to shoot just 28% (6-34) in the second stanza. The improved defense led to fast break opportunities for EOU. Those opportunities allowed them to score a whopping 47 points after the break.
Eastern will look to keep that momentum going as they move back into conference play January 4th at Northwest Christian College in Eugene. Tip off is set for 5:30pm
