The Mountaineer Women were able to force overtime against the OIT Hustlin’ Owls after trailing for the majority of the second half.  However, it was not enough as the team was unable to maintain an early overtime lead   and eventually ran out of opportunities, losing 68-71.

Junior Tiffanie Ulmer led a late regulation charge for the Mountaineer Women, as she sank some last minute free throws.  Her total for the night was a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds.

However OIT refused to go away and fought back in the extra session even without their leading scorer, senior Amanda Doherty.  She paced the Owls’ attack with eighteen points of her own before fouling out late in the second half.

Senior Liz Brice also came up big for the Mounties with fifteen points and game-high ten rebounds.  “This was Liz’s best game since coming here to Eastern,” said Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh.  Junior Sheena Henderson tallied seventeen points and six rebounds of her own.

The Mountaineers will attempt to bounce back against the Southern Oregon Raiders tomorrow.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PST
