Eastern Loses Second Straight

EUGENE, Ore. - Not even a week removed from riding a season high three match win streak, the EOU Volleyball team has lost its second consecutive match.  The Mounties fell on the road to Cascade Conference newcomer Northwest Christian 22-30, 30-27, 30-27, 30-23.

 

After winning game one 22-30 Eastern trying to battle back from slow starts in each of the remaining three games.  In all three EOU responded to being down by fighting to within a few points, and each instance their efforts were unrewarded.

 

The Beacons managed to make all of the big plays toward the end of each of the last three games.

 

The Mounties did have a few bright spots.  Chelsea Lally led EOU with 20 kills and 20 digs and Grace DeBoodt pitched in with 20 kills of her own.

 

Newcomer Sareena Simpson finished with 19 digs and Alissa Clinton led all players with 41 assists.

 

The Mountaineers will host Northwest University and Evergreen State next Friday and Saturday in Quinn Coliseum.  The Match is set to start at 7:00 pm.
