Simpson Earns Libero of the Week Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. - Eastern Oregon University junior Sareena Simpson was named Cascade Conference Libero of the Week for her efforts in two big wins against Northwest University and Evergreen State.
The 5'1 transfer from Treasure Valley Community College may be small in stature but has made a big impact on the Mountaineers success. Eastern is 7-6, 5-3 in Conference play going into a big weekend where they travel to Corban (7-7, 5-3 CCC) and Concordia (10-7, 6-2 CCC).
Simpson totaled 55 digs and four service aces over the weekend. On Friday alone, Sareena totaled 28 digs and all four of her aces in a five game thriller with the Eagles.
The award was the first of hopefully many recieved by Mountaineer athletes this school year.
