Track & Field Hosts Last Stand Mini Meet

La Grande, Ore - Despite cold, windy weather (46 degrees, wind about 15 mph+) we had a number of fine performances today. We were joined here in LaGrande by TVCC and Albertson College in a small, compact meet format with limited fields.

Some highlights were as follows;

4 x 800:
Albertson College originally requested we put together a small meet specifically to run the rarely run 4 x 800 meter race. Both the men's and women's race were closely contested with the lead changing several times until the final leg. Despite getting beat out in the end, we had several strong runs, most notably by Marcella Bosch (first leg, handed off with a solid lead) and Adam Goulet who ran the second leg for the men and our fastest split of the day.

Throws:
Coach Dee Harrison's throws group continues to improve, with several PR's on the day, including all three women and Josh Ross in the hammer. Mitch Wheelhouse improved in the Discus as well and missed the NAIA Provisional mark by one inch. His toss in the Hammer also ties him for the 5th best throw in school history.

Pole Vault:
Cayla Weissert continues to jump very well and this time was easily over the bar at the NAIA Provisional height and she had several good jumps at the NAIA Auto Mark. Her clearance of 11'3" equals the mark that is currently tied for 13th on the NAIA Performance list.
