Mounties Drop two in Caldwell

4.3.07

La Grande, Ore - Albertson (20-7,5-1, CCC) scored 3 runs in the first inning of the first game Tuesday and never looked back.  The Mounties, who have played 9 games in the last 8 days in 3 different states, struggled against the Yotes losing 6-2 and 11-1.

In the first game Eastern (10-11,2-4 CCC) managed just 2 hits.  Melodee Mildenberger singled in the first and later Lindsey Smith hit her 3rd home run of the season.

Game two got away from the Mounties quickly as the Yotes put up 7 runs in the second inning.

Junior Michelle St. John went 2-3 in the game with a run scored.  Meghan Henderson had the lone RBI when her double in the 3rd scored St. John.

The two wins gave ACI 20 on the season.  It is the first 20 win season in school history for the Yotes Softball team.

The Mountaineers will have to recover quickly as they will hit the field again on Friday and Saturday against Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon in La Grande.  Fridays double header versus the Owls is set to start at 2:00pm and the Saturday twin bill will start at 11:00am.

All of the games this weekend will be played at Pioneer Field.
