CALDWELL, Idaho - The Mountaineer Softball team had a busy day on Saturday. When it was all said and done Eastern had a 10-6 win over Holy Names, a 9-4 loss in game two of that series and a 6-5 win in a scrimmage game with Treasure Valley Community College.
As far as the record goes, EOU (1-2) will not receive credit for the TVCC win as it was only a scrimmage.
In game one against Names, the Mountaineers needed extra innings to post their first win of the season. Alison Stosich's double in the 7th inning tied the score and sent the game to extras where the Mounties had no problem scoring runs as they ran away with a 10-6 win.
In that game Michelle St. John went 4-5, Lydia Holm was 2-3 and newcomer Megan Platz continued her torrid start by hitting the go ahead 3 run homer in extra innings.
Game two was all Holy Names as the California school notched a 9-4 win over EOU. Michelle St. John was 2-3 and Platz was 3-4 with a couple of Homeruns. On the day Platz finished 5-8 with 3 Homeruns and 6 RBI.
Eastern will host Walla Walla Community College on Tuesday in a Scrimmage game before kicking off CCC play Friday against The College of Idaho at home.
