Softball Splits with Biola on Second Day in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. - The EOU Softball team got off to a great start Tuesday morning in game one of their double header with Biola University. Eastern (5-8, 2-4 CCC) beat the 2-1 but got shut out in the second game 7-0.
In the first game Melodee Mildenberger spread out 9 hits over 7 innings of work allowing just a single run. Both Mountie runs came courtesy of the long ball. In the second inning Ali Stosich hit a solo home run and Megan Platz led off the 4th with a solo shot of her own.
Game two was a different story at the Eagles pitching combination of Erica Moyer and Emily Gray shut down the Mountaineer offense allowing just 3 hits over 7 in a 7-0 loss.
Eastern will kick off a busy Wednesday with a rematch against McPherson College at 9:00am. At 11:00am the Mounties will face Taylor University before going up against Sawrence University at 1:00pm.
