Mounties Dominate St. Olaf, Fall to Graceland

Tuscon, Ariz - At 11:00am this morning EOU played St. Olaf and dominated, defensively and offensively.  The Mountie pitching staff gave up just two hits and junior Michelle St. John delivered 6 RBI in a 11-0 win.  In the 3:00pm game against host school Graceland, Eastern was unable keep the momentom going.  They lost the game 5-4 in their final outing in Tuscon.

 

The Mounties finished their Tuscon trip with a record of 4-3, bringing their overall record to 9-8. 

 

The first game was highlighted by the play of outfielder Michelle St. John who had two homeruns, A grand slam and a 2 run shot, giving the North Idaho CC transfer 6 RBI for the game.

 

In the second game Eastern led 4-2 before giving up 3 runs in the 7th and final inning.

 

Head Coach Missy Wheeler thought the trip was great for her team, "It was very worth wile.  We got a ton of games in.  Our offense was productive in all of the games, our defense just needs some work."  Wheeler went on to say, "We know what we need to work on so the trip has been extremely beneficial."

 

The team will fly into Eugene tomorrow.  The Mounties face Northwest Christian College on Saturday at 2:00pm before returning to conference play April 3 against Albertson College in Caldwell.
