Caldwell, Idaho - The Mountaineers (3-3) remain at .500 after spliting two games with The University of Great Falls. Eastern won the first game in extra innings 3-2 but came up short in the second game losing 7-4.
Head Coach Missy Wheeler had mixed emotions about the series, "We did not come out and play with a lot of emotion. It was not our best ball. On the other hand, we did get a split on the road and had nine hits in the second game."
In game one, Meghan Henderson led the way with a 2 run double in the bottom of the sixth to force extra frames. The Mounties eventually went on to win the game when Teri Cisler doubled in a run in the bottom of the ninth.
The second game saw six different Mountaineers get hits, including junior Lindsey Smith who went 3-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Unfortunatly, the Argos scored seven runs and handed Easten it's 3rd loss of the season.
EOU will travel to the other side of the state this weekend to face Concordia and Corban in their first two conference games of 2007. After the games in Salem on Saturday the team will get on a plane and travel to Tuscon, Arizona for the Tuscon Invitational
