La Grande, Ore - After the completion of the best season in program history, Head Coach Ryan Looney and the Eastern Oregon University Men's Basketball program are continuing to build for the future with the signing of their second prep standout in this recruiting class.
Beau Azadganian of Spokane, Washington will join Nate Bligh of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho who signed his national letter of intent to play for the Mounties in November.
"We are excited about the addition of these student-athletes," Looney said. "We felt like we needed to add both depth and energy to the program, and we are confident that these individuals will provide help in both areas. However, we are not finished with our recruiting efforts. We are continuing to look for quality student-athletes to help our program."
Azadganian, a 6-foot-5, 185 pound forward, was a First Team All-Greater Spokane League selection at Gonzaga Prep during his senior season. He averaged 15.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He served as team captain and was voted his teams Most Valuable Player.
Bligh, a 6-foot-3, 180 pound guard was a First Team All-Inland Empire League selection after leading Coeur d' Alene High School to an IEL Conference Championship and Idaho 5A State Tournament appearance. For his efforts he was recognized as an Idaho 5A Second Team All-State selection. During his senior season he averaged 17.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game.
The Mountaineers compiled a 23-8 record during the 2006-2007 season and advanced to the championship game of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament. The 23 wins were the most in EOU Men's Basketball history.
