Mark Carollo, Sheena Henderson Sweep Weekly Award

LA GRANDE, Ore. - What a week for EOU Basketball.  Saturday night the Mountie Women knocked off Northwest Christian for their 24th win of the season and 5th Conference Championship in the last decade.  The same night, on the same cour, the Mountaineer Men won their first Conference Championship in more than 30 years.  Today Mark Carollo and Sheena Henderson were recognized for their efforts in those wins.

 

Henderson was named Cascade Conference Player of the Week after scoring 48 points and pulling down 14 rebounds in a pair of wins against The College of Idaho and Northwest Christian.  The senior from Coulee City, Washington has been a force all season for EOU averaging 15 points and 7 boards for the recently crowned CCC champs.

 

Carollo had 25 points and 8 rebounds last Tuesday against the Yotes.  EOU's All-Time leading scorer poured in 40 points and six boards against Northwest Christian on Saturday as the Mountaineers clinched the Conference Title.  On the season Carollo is 3rd in the league in scoring at 19.7 and 7th in rebounding at 7 per game.

 

Both will have a chance to add to their totals this week as they host 1st round games in the conference tourney.  The women will play at 7:30pm Tuesday night, the Men will tip off at 7:30pm Wednesday.
