EOU Men Drop a Close One at #5 Warner Pacific

Playing without the services of their leading scorer Mark Carollo the Mountaineers lose on the road to Warner Pacific 82-79.  Carollo, out with a severally sprained ankle missed the first game of his career.

Eastern played well in this game and found themselves ahead by as much as 4 points late in the second half.  Unfortunately, the Mountaineers could not convert on their free throw opportunities.  EOU shot just 57% (11-19) from the charity stripe.  Playing on the road against the #5 team in the nation, that wasn't good enough.

Five different players scored in double figures for EOU.  Sophomores Jeremy Templeton and Tanner McIntosh had 15 and 14 points respectively.  Meanwhile, fellow sophomores Paul Carollo and Neil Fryer had 13 and 12.  Paul also led all players with 11 rebounds.

The Knights were led by raining CCC player of the week Scott O'Gallagher's 28 points.  Jalonta Martin and Josh Jackson followed with 17 points a piece.

The Mountaineers will need to bounce back Saturday night when the face Cascade College in Portland.  Game time is set for 7:30pm.
