Eastern Oregon Mountaineer Football

“Men on a Mission – Climbing to the Top”

Mountie football Fans,

Welcome to the second edition of the Mountaineer Pride newsletter.

I want to personally thank all of the Mountie fans that have supported our football program this spring. It means so much to the coaches and our players that hundreds of you made the trip over to Pendleton for our 2nd Annual Rollin Schimmel spring game and family BBQ.

I am looking forward to next season and seeing all of you pack Community Stadium to support this Mountie football team. It was great to see you all standing and cheering at the Round up Grounds and I would love to have that same enthusiasm back in La Grande on September 6th when we face Montana Tech. We want to make Community Stadium an intimidating place for our opponents to come to and you have so much to do with that by showing your passionate support for EOU football.  The players and coaches are excited and looking forward to making the 2008 a season full of excitement and great memories.

The fall of 2008 and Mountie football promises to be full of energy, excitement, and a new understanding of commitment.  It is with great enthusiasm that the Mountie faithful and myself at Eastern Oregon University continue to build on the tradition of excellence that has been set by this Eastern Oregon football team that started this past winter.  Football is only a small part of the equation for a successful program.  Community, family, administration, players, trainers, and coaches must all work together to accomplish the goals that we will set year in and year out.

We will enter the 2008 season with some new faces, new traditions and high expectations.   A special thanks to the EOU administration, professors and student body for their continual support of Eastern Oregon athletics.  Again, I want to thank you the fans for standing behind our team and rooting our players on. I can't underscore how meaningful it is to our players to see that sea of Blue and Gold with signs, painted faces and cheers. Your passion is tremendous. That is what I think of when I think of Eastern Football.

Yours in Mountaineer Football,

Tim Camp
