Billings, Mont - Defending Frontier Conference Champion Carroll College is the preseason favorite of the Frontier Conference football coaches to repeat as champions for the 2007 season. The Saints received five first place votes.

MSU-Northern received one first place vote and is picked to finish second in the overall balloting. Montana Tech was picked to finish third followed by Eastern Oregon, University of Montana Western and Rocky Mountain College.

Head Football Coach Ian Shields isn't putting much stock into the new poll, "We are optimistic about our season regardless of where we are in the poll."  "We just need to have a good training camp, get to the season and play the games." 

 

Last year, in Head Coach Ian Shields first season, EOU finished 6-5 in the always tough Frontier Conference. 

 

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth five points, second place worth four points, third place worth three points, fourth place worth two points and fifth place worth one point.

Eastern Oregon 12 points
Montana Western 9 points
Rocky Mountain College 7 points
