The Mounties improved to 9-2 on the season with a win over the Corban Warriors in Salem.  Sophomore wing Neil Fryer came off the bench to score a career high 26 points going 7-12 from the field and a perfect 11-11 from the free-throw line in just 17 minutes of playing time.

Five other Mountaineers joined Fryer in double figures.  Junior Mark Carollo added 14 points while younger brother Paul had a double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.  EOU’s only two seniors Derek Brown and Vernon Cropper scored 10 points each.  Corban was led by Jason Braun’s 15 points and 6 rebounds

Eastern, who led the game from start to finish, committed just 4 turnovers the entire game.  The point guard combination of Jeremy Templeton and Nick Finley handed out 12 assists while turning in over just once.

Although the Mounties went just 2 for 13 from behind the arc they managed to shoot 50 percent for the game (36-72).  EOU also shot 85 percent (23-27) from the charity stripe.  Meanwhile Eastern held the Warriors to just 35 percent (18-51) shooting for the game.

The Mountaineers will face Concordia University Wednesday night in Portland.  The game is set to start at 7:30pm.
