Concordia scored the first 10 points of the game and maintained that margin for most of the first half.  The Cavs led at half-time 43-33.  In the second, Eastern slowly got back into the contest, finally getting within striking distance with 8 seconds left in the game.  Down just 2 points with the ball and one chance to tie or win the game the Mounties failed to get a shot off losing its second conference contest 71-69.

Sophomore forward Paul Carollo played and outstanding game scoring 20 points on 10 of 12 from the field, he also added 9 rebounds.  Fellow sophomore Jeremy Templeton continued his solid play with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

The Mounties had a hard time containing Concordia senior Alex Hartman who finished the game with 27 points and 8 rebounds.  The 6’7 Hartman continually broke down the EOU defense getting to the basket and finishing or getting to the free throw line where he was 9-13.

The Mountaineers (9-3) will be off until December 29th and 30th when they face Northwest University and Evergreen at home.  Both games are set to start at 7:30pm and the athletic department is offering ½ off ticks for the games.
