Led by Tiffanie Ulmer’s game high 21 points on 10 for 13 shooting, the Mountie women’s basketball team defeated Willamette University 81-50 in Caldwell, Idaho. Head Coach Anji Weisenfluh said, “Tiffanie did more than just score, she had a great all around game.” Ulmer also added 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Mountaineers shared the ball well as 27 of the teams 34 total field goals were assisted. Coach Weissenfluh was pleased with the team’s offensive execution, “We did a good job scoring in transition and moving the ball in our half court offense.”
Some other Mountaineers had standout performances as well. Senior Liz Brice came off the bench to score 13 points and added 7 rebounds while junior transfer (Rocky Mountain College) Stephanie Neubauer had the teams first double double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Elise Hawes and Christie Weaver added 9 and 8 points respectively. The Bearcats of Willamette University were led by Laura Payne’s 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting.
Eastern will face Westminster Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm MT at Albertson’s College. The Mounties defeated the Griffins 81-66 last weekend in Lewiston, ID fueled by Christie Weavers career high 37 points.
