Fiegi and Owls Overpower EOU Men

KLAMATH FALLS- Ladies and Gentleman, may I introduce Ryan Fiegi? The senior from Medford scored a game-high 33 points in Oregon Tech's 96-79 victory over the Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team.

The game featured two the nation's top 15 teams, number ten EOU and number 13 OIT. The Mountaineers led 39-37 at halftime, but were outscored 59-40 in the second half. The 59 points were the most points given up in a half by Eastern this season.

The win puts the Hustlin' Owls at 19-4 overall and 10-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play, tied with Eastern. EOU drops to 17-4 and 10-3 in the CCC.

The Mounties made only five of their 21 three-point attempts, and committed 12 turnovers to their 13 assists. Tech finished shooting 50 percent from the field.

Eastern was led by Mark Carollo and Dan Blanchard's 19 points each, while Paul Carollo finished with 16 points.

Eastern will try to get back in the win column at Southern Oregon (7-17, 3-10 CCC) Saturday night. The Raiders fell at home to The College of Idaho 65-62 Friday night.
