The Eastern Oregon University Athletic Department and Booster Club have scheduled the 10th Annual Mountaineer Scholarship Scramble for October 17th at Buffalo Peak Golf Course in Union Oregon. The tournament title Sponsor, for the third consecutive year is Les Schwab Tire Store of La Grande.

“We are very appreciate of Bob Butler, General Manager and the La Grande Les Schwab Tire Store, “stated Rob Cashell Director of Athletics. ‘Their sponsorship, along with the many other corporate partners allows us to raise important funds to support athletic scholarships.”

The tournament is a four person scramble and will feature many opportunities for teams and individuals to win prizes. John J Howard Real Estate is sponsoring a $1 million dollar hole in one opportunity and Shane Boehm, of Harbor Financial Services, will be sponsoring a $10,000 cash prize for an expanded putting contest. Goss Motors will again sponsor a free golf cart on a designated hole in one hole. Other prizes include Adidas gear, lodging and meals at local establishments, cash and rounds of golf at area clubs.

Businesses can get involved by becoming a hole sponsor or entering a team. Cost for a hole sponsor is $100.00 and the fee to play is $75.00 per individual and $300.00 for a team of four. This cost does not include on site games.
