On June 4, 2008 in the McKenzie Theatre on the EOU campus, Eastern Oregon University athletics will have quite a big night. It is the first annual "Mounties." It will be a night for honoring the best and brightest that Eastern athletics has. Awards will range from best players of each of the school intercollegiate sports to the brightest student athlete.
Also honored on the night will be the year's top play, the best game of the year, the fan of the year, and many more awards... 21 awards in all.
The evening will begin with a V.I.P. gala at 6 PM for the nominees and presenters, which includes a red carpet picture taking area in the Loso Hall lobby. Then at 7 PM the award show will begin, and concluding the night will be an afterparty dance in the Loso Hall lobby from 9 PM to midnight.
There will be performances from the Summit Dancers and Dance Arts, and The Dropping Papayas with Chris Hoppie, highlight videos, and many more activities throughout the evening. The event will kick off with a small gala for the nominees, coaches, and athletic staff.
The public is welcome to attend the evening, but every attendee is asked to dress to impress. This is a FORMAL affair.
It will be a night like none before for EOU athletics. Please come out support what has been a great year in Mountaineer athletics!
