Northwest... No Problem for EOU Women

Barrett Henderson

After a shaky game the night before, the Eastern Oregon University women seemed to have their swagger back after defeating Northwest University (2-15, 1-8 Cascade Conference), 73-48.

In a game that was never in doubt for the Mountaineers, Eastern (13-1, 7-0 CCC) led by as much as 27 points in the second half.

EOU led at the half 44-23 after shooting 68 percent from the field in the opening period.

A balanced scoring attack led the Mountaineers, as every player touched the floor. Sheena Henderson and Laura Olsen led the EOU scorers with 18 and ten points each.

The Eagles were led by Brittany Bowsher's game-high 25 points. Bowsher entered the night as the second leading scorer in the Cascade Conference.

Eastern's next game will be Tuesday evening in La Grande against the College of Idaho (9-5, 6-1 CCC), who currently sits in second place in the Cascade Conference. College of Idaho defeated the Evergreen State College, 82-60, Saturday evening in Caldwell, Idaho.
