Jessy Watson

Head Coach

 

1st Season

 

Watson is in his third year with EOU and first as the head coach. Jessy comes to the Mountaineer coaching staff from La Grande High School. While at LHS, Watson was the Men's Soccer Head Coach for six seasons. During his tenure the Tigers made four trips to the state playoffs and had two top four finishes. LHS amassed a record of 54-10-20 and won the conference title four times under Watson's lead. He was named conference "Coach of the Year" three times.

Watson has a soccer background that ranges from playing for the All-Marine team to two seasons of semi-professional soccer in Southern California. Watson holds a "National" and an "Advanced National Diploma" from the NSCAA.

Watson is a native of La Grande and owns the local Dominos Pizza in La Grande and Baker City. He resides in La Grande with his wife Heather and daughter.

Kristen Rice

Assistant Coach

1st Season

 

 

After spending the last 5 seasons as the heart and soul of the Eastern Oregon University Soccer team Kristen "Tiger" Rice is joining the Mountie coaching staff. 

 

Rice was voted onto the All-Conference Team in each of her seasons in a Mountaineer jersey.  As a senior Tiger was named 1st Team All-Region and Honrable Mention All-America by the NAIA.  She is also EOU's all-time leader in assists and goals.

 

Kristen is a native of Eugene, Oregon and 2002 graduate of Marist High School.  She earned her bacholors degree in Exercise Science from Eastern last spring.

Mike Decker

Assistant Coach

2nd Season

 

Decker, a native of La Grande, begins his collegiate coaching career after spending three years as the Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach at La Grande High School. 

Decker played two years at Oregon State as a goal keeper while obtaining his undergraduate degree. 

Decker’s primary responsibility at Eastern Oregon will be working with the Mountaineer goal keepers.
