Mountaineer Women Improve to 2-0 With Weaver Career High

Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh said, "We were out of sink offensively in the first half, but (Christie) Weaver carried us."  The senior wing scored a career high 37 points in their 81-66 win against Westminster College, including 20 in the first half when the team needed her scoring most.  " I was proud of (Weaver) because she got involved early and she scored in a lot of different ways."

Eastern found themselves down double digits late in the second half despite Weavers heroics before going on what Coach Weissenfluh called an "explosive five minute stretch" which saw the Mounties gain the lead and control of the game for good.  During the second half the team shot a blistering 58% from the field after going just 14 for 32, good for 43% in the first period.

The Mounties also got solid contributions from juniors Elise Hawes 14 points, 6 rebounds and Tiffanie Ulmer 12 points and 7 carrums.  Stephanie Nuebauer also finished in double figures with 10.

The team will see its next action on November 24th and 25th when they travel to Caldwell, ID for the Lady "Yote" Classic hosted by Albertsons College.  Eastern will Face NCAA Division III Willamette on Friday (5:00pm MT) and will have a rematch against this same Westminster team on Saturday (3:00pm MT).
