Mounties Drop Play Shorthanded Lose at Corban

12.19.06

In just her second game back this season Sheena Henderson scored 18 points on 9 of 15 shooting but the Mountaineers could not contain a balanced Warrior attack in their 76-59 loss.  Corban had 5 different players score in double figures led by Jessica Steigleman's 19.

Eastern started the game with good intensity according to Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh, "(Then) we got a little out of sync and things got out of hand quickly".  Eastern found themselves down 16 at the half (44-28).  They did play better in the second half scoring 31 points to Corban's 32.

The Mounties played without the services of junior guard Stephanie Neubauer who injured her knee Saturday night against Western Oregon.  It was just another set back in a series of set backs for Eastern, "We are having a hard time building momentum.  We have not had our entire team for most of the season so, we are always starting from scratch instead of building".

EOU (7-4) will face Concordia Wednesday night in Portland.  Game time is set for 5:30.
