In the first half Eastern came out and played 2-3 zone, ran a lot of set plays and found themselves down one at the break.  Coach Anji Weissenfluh went into the locker room at the half and made some adjustments.

The Mountaineers came out in the second half and ran motion offense and changed their zone configuration to a 1-2-2.  That, combined with a couple of strong performances by Sheena Hederson and Christie Weaver allowed Eastern to come away with a 75-66 win.

"Everyone that got in the game for us played their roll perfectly then Sheena and Christie were awesome.  (Henderson) was good from start to finish scoring on the block and it was great to see Weaver turn it around after not playing great in the first half" said Weissenfluh.

Northwest could not stop Henderson around the basket.  The junior scored 25 points on 10 of 15 shooting from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds.  Weaver, a junior, who started the game a little tenative came out in the second half aggresive.  Known as a spot up shooter, Weaver played aggresively getting to the basket and to the free throw line.  She (Weaver) ended the game with 20 points and an amazing 17 rebounds.  The 17 rebounds were just 3 shy of the single game record held by Heather Epeldi who had 20 against Southern Oregon in 2003.

EOU will face Evergreen Saturday night at home.  Game time is set for 5:30pm.
