Eastern Women Dominate Season Opener

The Eastern Oregon Mountaineers Women’s team handled the Walla Walla College Wolves 92-21.  Junior Laura Olsen led a balanced attack with 19 points, while four Mountaineers scored nine or more points.

Eastern held the Wolves to just 21 points on 25% shooting from the floor.  Anna Jones and Ashley Anderson each scored six points, a team high, while the Wolves committed 43 turnovers as a team.

Senior Christy Weaver and sophomore Breana Olson each scored nine points, while freshman Salena Leavitt had 11 points and junior Tiffanie Ulmer scored 12.  The Mountaineers out rebounded the Wolves by 20 and had 24 more assists. 

The Mountaineers Women’s team next travel to Lewiston, Idaho for the Lewis-Clark State College Tournament to play Westminster on November 17 and Lews-Clark State College November 18.  Both contests will start at 4:00 p.m.
