Paul Carollo, Elise Hawes, Amanda Matson Earn Academic All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a fantastic season on the floor which saw the Mountaineer Men's and Women's Basketball teams reach new heights Paul Carollo, Elise Hawes and Amanda Matson prove that they still managed to put their school work first.
Carollo, Hawes and Matson have been honored as 2007-2008 NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award winners.
In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, one must be a junior or above in academic standing; have been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution and be certified as eligible.
Matson, a senior, also won the award last season. Carollo, a junior, could be eligible again next year.
