Ashland Ore. After a rough first half, in which EOU (21-5, 13-3) shot just 32% from the field, the Mounties got their offense going inside and out against Southern Oregon (16-9, 9-10). That offense came in the form of Tiffanie Ulmer and Christie Weaver.
Weaver knocked down 6 three pointers on the way to scoring a game-high 29 points. The sharpshooter also pulled down 10 rebounds and played all 40 minutes. Early on she struggled shooting but managed to toss in 5 from deep after the intermission.
Ulmer was getting her work done around the basket scoring 19 points on 9-13 shooting while hauling in 9 rebounds.
On the other end of the court the combination of Liz Brice and Elise Hawes were just as important. The duo combined to hold the Raiders standout point guard Chelsea Zimerman to just 9 points on 4-10 shooting.
Eastern will play a pivotal conference game Saturday night in Klamath Falls against the Owls of Oregon Tech. That game is set to start at 5:30pm.
