EOU Draws Defending National Champs

OLATHE, Kan.  The NAIA national office announced the 2007 National Tournament Bracket Wednesday. Eastern has drawn the defending national champion Hastings College in the first round. The Broncos are ranked 10th in the country and boast a record of 26-6. The game is set to start on Wednesday, March 7th, at 4:00pm CT.

The Mountaineers finished the season with a record of 25-6 and Co-Champions of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Eastern also advanced to the Conference Tournament Championship game against Corban College. EOU lost in that game, ending a 13 game win streak.

No Eastern Oregon Women's Basketball team has ever advanced passed the first round of the National Tournament. Mountaineer fans will remember last season Eastern lost a seven point game to Tabor College, who was ranked 4th in the country at the time, in the first round of last seasons National Tournament.
