KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. Eastern Oregon got revenge for an earlier loss in La Grande and defeated Oregon Tech 47-38 Saturday evening. It was the 10th straight win for the Mountaineers and 15th victory in the last 16 games.
Eastern Oregon (22-5, 14-3) got a stellar performance from Whitney Leman as the junior made 6-of-8 shots including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc for a game-high 17 points.
Oregon Tech (919-7, 11-5) was led in scoring by Cora McVey with 13 points on 5-of-10 and 2-of-3 from downtown. Tech senior Amanda Doherty pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds while Tiffanie Ulmer had nine caroms for EOU.
Neither team shot well over with EOU managing 14-of-43 (.326) and Oregon Tech 15-of-52 (.288). The win coupled with Albertson’s loss at Southern Oregon leaves Eastern and Albertson deadlocked for first place with Corban one-half game behind but even in the loss column.
Eastern Oregon plays host to Albertson on Friday at 5:30pm. For the seniors it will be the last regular season home game they play.
