Mounties Bury Geoducks in Three

LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon University Volleyball team (5-3, 7-6 CCC) completed the tail end of a weekend sweep Saturday night with a convincing 3-0 win over a shorthanded Evergreen State squad (0-7, 0-7 CCC).
The Geoducks, traveling with just six players, could not match the depth and athleticism of a Mountaineer team that had contributions from all 15 players.
EOU won the first game 30-10 and never looked back. Evergreen managed just 12 points in the second game but did rally to score 19 in the finale.
Eastern's attack was led by super sophomore Grace Deboodt who finished the three games with 17 kills. Freshman Haley McEnroe had 9 kills and Senior Cathy Savage pitched in with 8.
The setting duo of Alissa Clinton and Chelsea Herron dished out 21 and 17 assists respectively while 5'1 junior Sareena Simpson ended up with 27 digs.
The Mountaineers will hit the road next weekend as they travel to the other side of the state to face Corban and Concordia.
