Mountaineers Sweep Through Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Mountie Volleyball team got on a bus at 8:00 am Friday morning and drove four hours to Portland looking for a couple of conference wins. Saturday night they got back on that same bus with exactly that. EOU beat Warner Pacific 3-0 to complete the weekend sweep of Cascade and Warner Pac.
The wins brought Eastern to 3-1 in the Cascade Conference and 5-4 overall.
EOU won played brilliantly according to Head Coach Kaki McLean, "It was amazing. They played their hearts out." McLean went on to say, "It was our game from the start."
It certainly was, Eastern won the first game 30-23 then finished off the Knights 30-22 and 30-28.
Senior Chelsea Lally led the Mountaineers with 10 kills followed by Sophomore Grace DeBoodt's 9.
Haley McEnroe and Danielle Kelley helped out with 8 and 7 kills respectively.
Kiley Cobb finished the night with 16 digs and Alissa Clinton ended up with 21 assists.
EOU will host first place Albertson College Tuesday night in Quinn Coliseum. The first game is set to start at 7:00 pm.
