Mounties Go 0-2 on Day One

Salem, Ore - The Mountaineers started their season out by going 0-2 at the Willamette University Tournament in Salem, Oregon. EOU lost their first two matches of the season to UC-Santa Cruz and George Fox on Friday.
The Mounties lost the first match to the banana slugs 27-30, 23-30, 18-30. Later in the evening EOU dropped a match to the Bruins 27-30, 28-30, 30-17, 20-30.
Head Coach Kaki McLean stayed positive after the rough start, "Towards the end we started working together better as a team. We have plenty of work to do but tomorrow is a new day."
Sophomore Grace Deboodt led the Mounties attack with 12 kills against George Fox alone. Senior Kiley Cobb had 21 digs while Sophomore Alissa Clinton added 14 in the same match.
Eastern will face Linfield Saturday morning before playing the home team at 2:00 pm.
