Mounties Clean up on Weekly Conference Awards

LA GRANDE, Ore. - It has been a good week for the Mountaineer Volleyball program. Over the weekend the Mounties got a much needed sweep against Concordia and Corban putting them alone in 4th place in the Cascade Conference. Now, Kiley Cobb and Grace Deboodt have been given Conference and Regional Player of the Week Honors.
Cobb was named Libero of the Week, tallying 70 digs in the two contests. The 5'10 senior from Weiser, Idaho won the award last season and is the second Mountaineer to win it this year. Sareena Simpson won it the week of October 2nd.
Deboodt was named Player of the Week after notching 47 kills and 17 digs Friday and Saturday night. Awards are nothing new to the super soph from Crook County High School. Last season as a freshman Grace was named Honorable Mention all Cascade Conference for her high flying exploits on the court.
The Mounties will hope to carry all of this momentum with them to western Washington this weekend as they face Evergreen and Northwest.
