Mounties Sweep Warriors on the Road

Salem, Ore - Already up 4-0 in the fifth inning of the first game of a double header at Corban College, Melodee Mildenberger belted a grand slam homerun over the left field fense.  The Mountaineers went on to win the game (12-1) and the series.

 

In game one The Mounties cranked out 10 hits on their way to scoring a season high 12 runs.  Meghan Henderson and Michelle St. John both had multi hit games, each going 2-4 with two runs scored.  St. John tallied 3 RBI while Henderson brought home 2.  Mildenberger's 4 RBI were a season high for the Mounties.

 

While EOU (5-5) was racking up runs, the Mountie defense and pitching staff held Corban (3-12-1) to just 2 hits and a single run.

 

Melodee Mildenberger, already the star on offense, gave up just one hit while pitching 4 innings.

 

In game two Eastern remained hot with the bats talling 10 more hits.  According to Head Coach Missy Wheeler, "Our hits were not strung together as well, but the girl's did a great job putting the ball in play."

 

Lydia Holm, Lindsey Smith and Jessica Snyder had two hits each.  Smith and Snyder also drove in runs while Hannah Kirk brought in another.

 

Kelly West gave up just 3 hits in 6 innings.  Teri Cisler came in to close out the Warriors.
