Looney Earns CCC Coach of the Year Award

LA GRANDE, Ore. - EOU's Head Basketball Coach Ryan Looney was voted by his peers at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year after guiding his (25-5, 17-3 CCC) Mountaineers to a conference championship.
Looney, in his 4th season, has turned the Mountaineer Basketball program around in record time. As a rookie coach in 2004-2005 the team struggled to a 4-22 record. The very next season EOU reversed its fortune and went 17-11.
During the 2007-2007 campaign Eastern finished with a school record 23 wins and advanced to the conference tournament championship game.
This season Coach Looney and his Mountaineers soared to new heights winning 25 games and earning the schools first ever trip to the NAIA National Tournament.
