Mounties Roll to 20th Win after Slow Start

2.09.07

Ashland Ore. The Southern Oregon University Raiders (5-10, 12-14) came out running and managed to build a 20-6 lead before Eastern (20-6, 10-5) knew what hit them. However, a change in defense and better execution on offense allowed the Mounties to completely turn the tables and take a six point lead into halftime. Eastern went on to hold off a pesky Raiders team and win its 20th game of the season 74-63. The 20 wins ties the school record for most wins in a season.

Jeremy Templeton led all scorers with 20 points on 4-7 shooting from the field. The sophomore point guard mixed up his game attacking the basket and getting himself to the free throw line thirteen times, making eleven.

Senior Derek Brown played very well around the basket scoring 18 points and pulling down 5 rebounds in 28 minutes. Sophomore wings Tanner McIntosh and Neil Fryer also got into double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively. Their classmate, Paul Carollo snatched a game-high 9 rebounds.

Eastern (#22) will travel over to Klamath Falls to face the 7th ranked Oregon Tech Owls. Tip off is set for 7:30.
