Eastern (13-4) came out of the gates quickly on Friday night.  Within a couple of minutes of the jump ball, The Owls of OIT (19-2) found themselves down 16-4 and the Mounties never let up winning the conference match up at home 87-72.

Several terrific performances were turned in by the Mounties, led by Tanner McIntosh's 25 points.  The sophomore sensation went 8-15 from the field with a combination of outside shooting,  dribble drive penetration and post up opportunities.

Joining McInosh were fellow sophomores Jeremy Templeton and Paul Carollo.  Templeton, along with back up point guard Nick Finley did a fantastic job guarding All-American guard Levell Hesia who still managed 15 points and 3 assists.  Jeremy also contributed greatly on offense scoring 11 points, dishing out 8 assists to just 1 turnover while grabbing 5 rebounds in 34 minutes of action.  Rebounding machine Paul Carollo had yet another double-double with 15 points and a game high 10 rebounds.

Senior Post Derek Brown also played inspired basketball on Friday scoring 14 including 2 crowd pleasing dunks, one of which came early on in the first half and seemed to energize the near capacity crowd and his teammates.

EOU will play for the weekend sweep when they face Southern Oregon (10-9) in Quinn Coliseum Saturday night at 7:30pm.
