Brian Avila

Equipment Manager

Brian Avila has been on the Mountaineer staff since 1986 as the Equipment Manager. A native of Livermore, California, Avila attended EOU and participated in baseball. As a pitcher for the Mounties Brian played on some of the most successful teams and still holds numerous records including most strikeouts in a season and consecutive scoreless innings.

Brian is responsible for all aspects of managing equipment for the department including; uniform and practice gear purchase, laundry services, facility set-up for events, equipment maintenance and repair and preparation of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities for practice and competitions. Brian is also the liaison to all official crews, and grounds crew personnel, as well as, meeting the needs of visiting teams and groups.

Avila is an avid outdoorsman, accomplished carpenter and a former baseball and basketball official. He and his wife Kenna are the proud parents of Conor, Garett, and Kali.
