For the first time in History EOU football will have six home football
games. The home schedule is part of the overall 2007 football schedule
released by the Department of Athletics.
"It is very exciting to have six home games for our student athletes,
parents and fans of Mountie Football" stated Rob Cashell Director of
Athletics. "There is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm surrounding
football as we enter the second year in the Frontier Conference."
The Mountaineers were picked to finish last in the Frontier Conference
in 2006 and ended the season in 4th place. Highlights of the 6-5 season
included two come from behind victories over Rocky Mountain College and
a home victory over then 7th ranked MSU-Northern. EOU also beat cross
state rival Southern Oregon University in the first game of the season.
"We are excited about the 2007 schedule and the challenge it presents. We will be playing the best of the best in the always tough Frontier Conference and we are excited about that opportunity in our 2nd year within the conference. We are also thrilled to be playing six home games this year which is a first in EOU history. I know our fans will enjoy coming to Community Stadium and watching the Mounties compete next fall. The 2007 season promises to be one of the most competitive and action-packed in Mountaineer history."
