In a game highlighted by two top 15 NAIA ranked teams, EOU proved to be the dominant team in the league, winning easily at 13th ranked Warner Pacific, 89-64. Mark Carollo also surpassed the EOU All-time leading scorer mark with his 14 points.
The Mountaineers are now in sole possession of first place in the Cascade Conference after defeating the preseason number one and two, Warner Pacific and Oregon Tech, in just the first four games of conference play.
Neil Fryer led Eastern's balanced attack with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Also pitching in was Mark Carollo with 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Warner Pacific was held well under their season scoring average managing just 27 points in the first half and trailed by 11 at that point. The hopes for a comeback were spoiled early as the Mountaineers scored the first three baskets of the second half and deflated the spirits of the home crowd.
Carollo now has amassed 1,150 points in his four years at Eastern. Carollo only needed six points to pass Johnnie Hilliard's record.
The Knights were led by senior forward Jalonta Martin's 14 points and 6 rebounds. Eastern will have a week off before returning to practice and to game action on January 4 in Eugene at Northwest Christian.
