Mountaineer Women Hold Off Linfield

McMINNVILLE, Ore - The 23rd Ranked Eastern Oregon University Women's Basketball team narrowly defeated Linfield College (4-1) 47-45 in a non-conference match up, to remain undefeated behind senior Tiffanie Ulmer's 17 points and 7 rebounds. 

Ulmer got plenty of help from her front court mate, Sheena Henderson.  Henderson scored 13 points on 6-11 shooting.  The 6'0 post also pulled down 9 rebounds.  Elise Hawes also pitched in with 7 points and a game high 11 boards.

The contest went back and forth with LC taking a 3 point lead with just under four minutes to play.  However, the Mounties would hold Linfield scoreless over the last 3:56 allowing themselves to capture the lead and the game.

As a team Eastern (6-0) out shot the Wildcats 43% to 32% and out rebounded the home team 39-23.

EOU returns to action on December 14 when they travel to Spokane to face NCAA D-III Whitworth College.
