The Mountie Women's Basketball team had not lost to Albertson in 9 tries, but Eastern's cold shooting (32% on 18-55 from the field) combined with some timely made baskets by the Yotes allowed ACI to knock off EOU 62-56. Junior Whitney Clark's scored the last of her game high 24 points when she drained a contested 3 pointer with just seconds to go to clinch the victory for the Yotes.
Head Coach Anji Weissenfluh said, "It was a disappointing loss, we just didn't execute on either end of the floor." According to Weissenfluh their was one bright spot, "Elise Hawes came ready to play and gave us great energy, especially on the defensive end. We just need to get everyone to match her intensity." Hawes finished with 5 points and 8 rebounds in 31 minutes.
The Mounties where led by Senior Christie Weaver's 16 points, she added 7 rebounds. Junior Whitney Leman tossed in 11 and had 6 rebounds, while her classmate Tiffanie Ulmer chipped in with 10 points and a team high 10 rebounds.
The Mountaineers will return to action on Tuesday when they face Whitman College in a non-conference match up at Quinn Coliseum. Game time is 5:00 pm, the men will play directly following the women.
