Eastern Oregon University dropped its ninth game of the season losing at Rocky Mountain College 21-17.
Eastern again had an early lead but was unable to hold on after giving up two touchdowns in the second quarter.
EOU had 285 yards in total offense, including 177 passing from Ian O'Brien. O'Brien completed 11 of his 20 passes, with no interceptions.
Clint Rodgers and James Mayfield had great game's for Eastern. Rodgers led the receiving with four catches for 84 yards, while Mayfield had 56 yards on three catches.
At the half Eastern only trailed 14-10, and stayed even with the Bears in the third quarter, 7-7. In the fourth quarter, EOU defense kept the Bears from scoring, but the Mountaineer offense was unable to score as well.
Travis Morscheck once again led the ground attack for the Mountaineers. Morsheck had 26 yards on six carries for EOU. O'Brien had 20 yards rushing, including a 34-yard run.
Rocky Mountain finished with 425 yards of offense, 251 yards coming on the ground. The Bears completed 16 of their 27 passes, for a total of 174 yards.
RMC improves to 2-6 in the Frontier conference and 3-6 overall. EOU falls to 1-8 in the Frontier and 1-9 overall. The Mountaineers return to La Grande for the first of their two final games, both at Community Stadium on Saturday November 3 against Montana Tech.
