men finish 2nd at Division I Portland

PORTLAND - In their first full
outing as the No. 1-ranked team in the NAIA, the Eastern Oregon University
men's team finished second at the University of Portland Invitational.
Eastern Oregon runners finished fifth,
sixth and seventh, the host team swept the top three spots to
outdistance the Mountaineers to the team title.
Tim Riley (Sr, Corvallis, Ore.)
was the top finisher for Eastern with a time of 20 minutes, 27.42
seconds. Just behind him was Eric Griffiths (Jr.,
Hubbard, Ore.) and Pat Egelus (Sr., Palmer, Alaska) with time
of 20:29 and 20:32, respectively.
Rounding out the scoring for the
Mountaineers was All-American Michael Greenman (So., Elk, Wash.) with
a time of 20:38 and just behind Greenman was Ian Schroeder
(Jr., Milwaukie, Ore.) at the 20:39 mark.
The Mountaineer men will watch the
women compete at the Lewis & Clark Invitational in Estacada on
Saturday.
The men's team will now take the next
three weeks off before making their way to the Willamette University
Invitational on October 4.
