Eastern
Oregon cross country athletes and coaches will hold a Mountain High
Cross Country Camp Aug. 11-14 at the Blue Mountain 4-H Center near
Summerville.
Local
high school athletes are invited. The cost is $60, and the camp is
overnight so athletes are encouraged to bring a sleeping bag.
The
camp is located in the shadow of Mount Emily and has loop trails
around the camp as well as some which climb up the slope of the
mountain.
Katlin
Lafferty, a member of last year's elite women's cross country team at
Eastern Oregon, is the camp director and Pat McCurry, a former Eastern
assistant cross country coach, is one of the coaches.
Also
coaching are National All-American cross country runners from Eastern,
Kelsey Jones and Brian Crowl. There will be professional athletes
offering instruction as well as runners from Boise State.
Sponsoring
the camp are Dr. Bill Bond from the Center for Natural Health, Dr.
James Kopp and Dr. Gregg Densmore.
